Frédéric Silvestre is in New Zealand !

From November 22nd till December 6th, Frédéric Silvestre will visit the University of Otago in the South-East city of Dunedin, New Zealand. It’s the first visit of Frédéric at Otago even if he’s been collaborating with Dr Aniruddha Chatterjee since 2014. This long-term friendship has recently resulted in the first framework collaboration agreement between the University of Otago and the University of Namur.  It has also resulted in an Erasmus + International Credit Mobility fellowship, funded by the EU, which has permitted this scientific mission. Other missions to Otago and to Belgium will follow in the next years.

During his stay, Frédéric will give seminars to researchers, participate to lab meetings, have face to face discussions, and interact with researchers coming in Otago for the Australasian Epigenetics Alliance annual conference. He will also learn some technical tips to develop cutting-edge epigenetic methods, such as epigenetic editing that will be further adapted to fish species.  This mission will be the starting point to develop more research collaborations between Otago and Namur.
