LEAP has just published two new scientific articles that are now available online. First one is our first article related to epigenetics in the zebrafish and is the result of Jennifer Dorts work (with the help of Elodie Falisse ane Enora Flamion). We emphasize the effects of environmental stressors during the embryogenesis of this model fish species. It is suggested that early embryogenesis (the period during DNA methylation reprogramming) can be a highly sensitive period to affect adults via epigenetic mechanisms. It has been published in the journal “Scientific Reports” from the prestigious group “Nature” and can be downloaded here. The second article has been published in Aquatic Toxicology and is the first article of Anne-Sophie Voisin for her PhD thesis. Alexandre Fellous and our colleague Ryan Early from the University of Alabama also contributed to this paper. It is the first article we published on our new model species, the mangrove killifish. This amazing species is the only vertebrate capable of self-fertilization. Anne-Sophie shows in her paper that a pollutant can affect adults biology after an exposure during embryogenesis.
